Every act of kindness can become a hand that supports someoneWarm paper-cut and clay art symbolize protection, companionship and the continuation of kindness.

An event has ended, but the kindness everyone contributed did not stop at the final line of the accounts.

Thank you to everyone who supported the January 11 “March Against Abolition of the Death Penalty and for Child Protection.” After the relevant expenses were settled, the event funds collected through mutual support within the Child Protection Community had a balance of NT$27,128.

As there have been no further event expenses or other needs for this balance, we discussed the matter and decided to donate all of this shared support to the Luo brothers. The donation was made through the family’s public fundraising channel, in the hope of offering modest but tangible support to a bereaved family that has endured a devastating upheaval.

How kindness continues

This was not a new fundraising drive. It was the balance left after the January 11 event accounts were settled. We chose neither to leave it idle nor to redirect it to another use. With no subsequent event expenses, we sent the full NT$27,128 where care and support were truly needed.

For a victim’s family, support is more than a number. It means someone remembers their pain and is willing to shoulder a small part of the burden on the long road to recovery. For everyone who took part in the event, this donation also gives their shared contribution a follow-through that can be checked and explained.

Thank you for every contribution and every act of trust

Thank you to everyone who participated in, helped with or supported the January 11 event. Some attended, some volunteered, some helped with supplies and administration, and others continued following child protection and victims’ families. These different forms of commitment allow public advocacy to extend beyond the day itself and remain a force for caring for others.

We will continue accounting for event funds openly, clearly and traceably, valuing every contribution entrusted to us and turning concern for children and victims’ families into concrete action.
